DISTRICT PREVIEW: NEW JERSEY SOUTH

We are going to be checking out all of the districts. This preview covers NJ South in the Atlantic Conference. Just in case you didn’t check out the Season Brawl, here’s how this works:

FAVORITES: One of the teams I think will win the district and should be a lock to place in the Top 4 and make the playoffs.
LEGITIMATE THREAT: Could win the District. Should be in the running to make the playoffs.
CONTENDERS: They could stick around for a while, but certain unexpected things need to swing their way for them to win
DARK HORSE: They COULD win, but A LOT of things need to swing their way – like everyone running out to Atlantic City to play Pai Gow Tiles (Ok just a note – no one would do that – EXCEPT me. Heh).

There’s one thing we can tell you with certainty – NJ Drillers will be in the Top 4. Everyone else…well…hmmm….I got nothing. Well, I got something, because I have to make predictions here.

FAVORITES
NJ DRILLERS: They don’t always win the District. They do, however, always are in the mix and make the playoffs. No reason why this year will be any different.

NATION OF DOMINATION: They came in second the last time we had district play. Is this the year that they make the jump to first?

AC EXPRESS: If there was a most improved team last year, they should have won it, as they went from fodder to third. Do they have enough in the arsenal to get to first?

LEGITIMATE THREAT
THE SYNDICATE: Another team that went from Midpack to 4th place – and they had a legitimate shot of getting better. Can they last the full season?

BULLETPROOF: They have the talent, but they took a small step back last season. Can they get it all together this year?.

ON A MISSION: Not a bad first season run. What do you do for an encore?

CONTENDERS
SOUTH JERSEY STORM: They don’t finish in the bottom half too often, and chances are if they had a full season, they wouldn’t have finished there last season. They probably won’t finish there again this season.

JER-Z OUTLAWZ: From playoff-run to 8th place. Which team shows up this season?

THE KRAKENS: Not a bad season debut, but for their Sophomore year, they have to get past some teams they didn’t get past last season – and that also means beating the teams they should be beating.

ABSOLUTE CHAOS: They weren’t that far away from the Krakens, and they also have some work to do. So go and do it.

DARK HORSE
WEEKEND WARRIORS: Hopefully, they spent some weekends recruiting, because last season was a mess.

THE REJECTS: Last season they felt rejected and dejected, but they do have talent here. They need to play like a team this season.
