Sneak Preview: Season Brawl #3

Gordon Pepper breaks down Season Brawl #3

This weekend will feature three more Season Brawls. We are focusing on Saturday’s Connecticut region. The other NJ ones will show up later on. Here’s a reminder on how this works:

FAVORITES: One of the teams I think will win the whole thing
LEGITIMATE THREAT: Not one of the front-runners, but if they win it wouldn’t be a surprise
CONTENDERS: They could stick around for a while, but certain unexpected things need to swing their way for them to win
DARK HORSE: They COULD win, but A LOT of things need to swing their way – like a meteor shower wrecking all of the other lanes.

Here we go…
FAVORITES
China Syndrome – Finished juuuuust behind Raging Bulls in their district last year. could this be the year they make a statement?

Pound 4 Pound – One of the old guard teams in CT, P4P have been consistently getting stronger. The other front-runner in a wide-open district.

LEGITIMATE THREAT
MOP Nation Militia – They took a step backwards last year, but there’s more than enough talent on this team to get the job done. Do not overlook a Joey Nereu-led squad.

Hounds of War – They also took a step back last season, but their recent successes in tournament and WCS play put them up here. Very dangerous if they get the right draw.

CONTENDERS
Public Enemy – Two years ago, they won their district. Last year…yuck. Which version of the Public Enemy are we getting this weekend?

Phoenix – They are hoping to come out of the ashes, because last season for them was a little bit of a dumpster fire.

DARK HORSE
Excalibur – Last year for this team was rough. The good news about this is that they can try again – and make a massive statement in doing so.

Reloaded – New teams always show up here. That being said, if there’s any team that can make a crazy debut, based on who is in this bracket, it’s this team and it’s in this bracket.
