Top 50 For 12/14-12/24, 2021

How did this affect the rankings?

More notes before we start:

  1. Style points count. You’ll see that down the list.
  2. Just a reminder, I’m a ‘What have you done for me lately’ guy, so a team that did great last year but is bowling like dishwater now is not going to be on this list.
  3. If you’re not in a play-off spot in your district. You’re not making the list. UPDATE: I threw in ONE Exception. ONE. It’s my list, I can do what I want with it. So NYAH.
  4. While #1 is Tour Stop Play, Team Rankings / WCS / Tournament Results DO count here, because if they do well and a team uses these people in a UBA Tour Stop, then there’s no reason why not to think they will be just as good at a tour stop as they are in a tournament, etc.
  5. Keep in mind that with over 200 teams competing this season, this list represents less than the top 25% of the UBA. If you’re on here, consider that some kudos.
  6. This is for fun. Don’t get salty, get motivated.
  7. I love all feedback, so keep it coming 🙂

So here we go with this week’s rankings….

CURRENT PLAY NOTE: The Top 3 from Last Team Standing were all from the Long Island District, so that gets play, as well as the NJ South Results and WCS Title Match Results from said Last Team Standing

  1. BC Crew (170-70 / 1st) (Was 3)
I absolutely would have jumped them up if they put a team in / did anything at Last Team Standing. UPDATE: They did and made the Top 6 because I was apparently sleeping during the playoff round. Hence, the move. I’m getting a lump of coal for Christmas.
  2. Outrage (130-30 / 1st) (Was 1)
They didn’t put in a team for Last Team Standing and BC Crew did.
  3. Murder Inc. (136-24 / 1st) (Was 2)
That plus Murder Inc. failed to win the Heavyweight Tag Team belts from Dysfunctional Bowlers.
  4. Boardwalk Empire (112-48 / 1st) (Was 6)
Terri Bollinger is your new Northeast Vixen’s Champion. These things count in my rankings.
  5. G.O.A.T. (135-65 / 1st) (Was 5)
They are in the Southeast. They don’t get to play Northeast Last Team Standing
  6. Hitmen (164-36 / 1st) (Was 4)
Kevin Decker said that they still had work to do and he’s the president. So I’m listening to him.
  7. High Octane (156-44 / 1st) (Was 7)
Early nominee for South Surprise team of the season.
  8. Tribe Called Nest (129-31 / 1st) (Was 8)
    No Tribe at LMS? Really?
  9. The Arsenal (132-28 / 1st) (Was 9)
Still awaiting the Team Ranking Match Result.
  10. AC Express (151-49 / 1st) (Was 15)
Defended first in their district this past weekend.
  11. Spartanberg Savages (133-67 / 1st) (Was 11)
Siesta in the South this week.
  12. The Replacements (130-30 / 1st) (Was 37)
So some grumpy guy named George yelled at me because he didn’t see his team in the Top 50 (HINT: As you can see based on last week’s placement, they were). Now that they are in first, I will say this: HEY SOME GRUMPY GUY NAMED GEORGE! YOUR TEAM IS. RIGHT. HERE. Just to make sure I got some grumpy guy named George’s attention. Ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff.
  13. New England Heat (190-50 / 1st) (Was 10)
Are they there because they are that good – or because the NE South is that bad – or because the NE North (which they were in last place last year) is that good? As they didn’t show up to LTS, we won’t know yet, so they drop.
  14. Sub-Zero (122-78 / T2nd) (Was 12)
The only team not in first that’s in the Top 15.
  15. Conspiracy Theory (162-38 / 1st) (Was 14)
Too many active teams on top for them to stay where they were. Sorry.
  16. Motion 2 Strike (150-50 / 1st) (Was 13)
Do I think that the Inner Coastal District is the weakest district in the Southeast? Yep.
  17. Dysfunctional Bowlers (92-58 / 4th) (Was 17)
They still have the Uncapped Heavyweight titles, which is good. They lost the Cruiserweight title, so that’s bad. And their LTS’ scores were ugly. BUT they did win their Team Ranking match to move to first in their district. So I guess it’s a push?
  18. All In! (143-57 / 1st) (Was 16)
The Chosen Ones called you out. You better respond.
  19. Synergy (129-71 / 2nd) (Was 43/19)
I gave them the loss when they actually won, so I blew it. They get back to where they were. Gordon sucks.
  20. The Franchise (123-37 / 1st) (Was 21)
They move up in the soft part of the Top 50.
  21. Royal Flush (128-72 / 3rd) (Was 40)
They won Last Team Standing. Julio Hernandez gets dap. Now can they survive their district?
  22. Identity Crisis (124-76 / 1st) (Was 25)
The UBA is having an identity crisis with this team, who is in first but no-showed at LTS.
  23. Bulletproof (136-64 / 2nd) (Was 33)
Nice win puts them within 15 points of the Express
  24. Pocket Kingz (98-62 / 2nd) (Was 18)
Their WCS showings’ as of late haven’t been anything to write home about.
  25. NJ Drillers (121-89 / 3rd) (Was 42)
I figured we would have seen them here…oh…around 2 months ago.
  26. Da Garden Foundation (90-70 / 3rd) (Was 23)
They could be higher if I knew what they did against Arsenal in the Team Rankings match.
  27. Long Island Legends (138-62 / 2nd) (Was 28)
What happened last weekend at LTS (them not putting in a team) was not Legendary.
  28. Da Takeover (86-74 / 4th) (Was 19)
What kept DTO over DGF in the standings was Tiffany Small’s Vixen’s title. She doesn’t have it anymore.
  29. Strike City (107-53 / 2nd) (Was 22)
What can move Strike City back up is a win over The Replacements….who just happen to be their next opponent. Fun times!
  30. Latino All-Stars (124-36 / 2nd) (Was 24)
If it makes you feel any better, anything that Rudy Feliciano said to you during your interview and performance at Last Team Standing was way worse than anything I would have wrote over here.
  31. New World Order (122-78 / T2nd) (Was 25)
The NWO starts their reign in 2022
  32. Menace II Society (140-60 / 2nd) (Was 32)
Unlike other teams that could have improved their stock, they couldn’t
  33. Str8 Bizness Cartel (100-20 / T2nd) (Was 27)
I thought I’d be seeing them this weekend. Guess not.
  34. DC Mafia (100-20 / 2nd) (Was 29)
Same with DCM. Should be interesting to see what happens when the Empire takes their bye.
  35. Impact (104-16 / 2nd) (Was 25)
Yes, I know most people think they should be a lot higher. And I know people are going to complain. But I can’t, in good faith, put this team any higher when you lose a team ranking match to a team that’s in 11th place in your district.
  36. Silent Killerz (112-48 / 2nd) (Was 30)
Would have been nice to see you at LTS…
  37. Apocalypse (92-28 / 2nd) (Was 31)
Wouldn’t Last Team Standing be an event that’s appropriate for Apocalypse?
  38. Class Axe (116-44 / 3rd) (Was 34)
    Still grinding into 2021
  39. Reality Check (128-32 / 2nd) (Was 35)
This is a team that once other teams get their bye will start shooting up the chart.
  40. #Violators (132-68 / 2nd) (Was 38)
Looking to violate more next year
  41. Rival Alliance (106-54 / 1st) (Was 36)
Here’s how first places are very deceiving. They are in first but there’s also 2 teams that have had their bye that are right behind them, so although the other teams still have to get their points once Rival Alliance takes their bye, there’s a good chance Rival Alliance will be leaving both first place and this chart. Sort of like dead team walking.
  42. Suicide Squad (124-116 / 4th) (NEW)
The came in third place in Last Team Standing and Chondite Faison won the Cruiserweight title. Good weekend to be Squuuuaaaaaaaad!
  43. Pound 4 Pound (146-94 / 2nd) (Was 39)
Waiting for the leaves to fall in Connecticut
  44. The Chosen Ones (108-92 / 4th) (NEW)
Congratulations to Jay Keith for winning the Northeast Weltereweight title.
  45. Ocean Wave (106-54 / 3rd) (Was 41)
They haven’t bowled anyone of note. That changes soon.
  46. Smurf Nation (116-84 / 2nd) (Was 44)
Going apple hunting to finish out 2021.
  47. Philly Horsemen (106-54 / 4th) (was 45)
I know they have a better percentage record than some of the other teams, and they still have a game in hand, but as the standings say they are 4th, I treat them as they are 4th. They should improve though with some wins.
  48. Killer Gripz (120-80 / 5th) (NEW)
Yes, I know they are in fifth, but they did do something positive this week (Second in Last Team Standing) and they still have a game in hand with 4 points behind 4th, so fiiiiiine. Take the spot. Don’t let me regret doing that.
  49. Rollin’ Rebels (128-72 / 3rd) (Was 46)
    See you in 2022
  50. Da Hit Squad (98-62 / 3rd) (Was 47)
    Auld Lang Syne

OUT: (For now) Untouchables / MOP Nation Militia / City Morgue
