The Top Teams go 5-0-1

Here’s the Tour Stop 5 Results for the Sand Hills District

High Octane: 30, Beast Squad: 10
High Octane has gone 102-18 for the past 3 tour stops to hold on to first. Ron Sargent’s 279/727 and Patrick Rogers’ 276/702 keys a crucial third game 6-0 / +237 pin run that allows them to take the total wood by 157. Despite a 718 from Beast Squad’s Stephen Adams, the Beasties let an 80 pin lead get away from them, and they fall to 9th with a 22-58 record for the past 2 tour stops.

Synergy: 32, Total Pin Destruction: 8
A 786 from Chris Britt and a 774 from John May leads Synergy to a 443 pin pummeling on the scratch side. TPD gets 8 from the second handicap trios, but that’s all they get as they stay in the cellar and don’t have tour stop win #1 yet. A 58-22 record from the past two tour stop, keeps Synergy in second…

Rollin’ Rebels: 32, Natural Selection: 8
…but a 114-46 record for the past 4 tour stops gets the Rebels up to within a point. See what Synergy did on the scratch side? Well, Jerry Didway Jr (785), Justin Troche (763) and Brandon Andrews (717) bludgeons Natural Selection by ‘only’ 410 pins. Not as impressive as Synergy, but good enough for the victory. Samuel Smarszcz’s 708 kives Natural Selection a handicap trio, but that ends’ the now 10th placed NS win streak because that 708 doesn’t get them out of the 511 pin total wood hole that the Rebels put them in.

The Untouchables: 34, Team Malice: 6
Now usually a 246 pin win on the scratch side is usually impressive and usually means your teams scores the victory – and it does in this case – but doesn’t it seem a little blase, considering a 443 and 410 pin pasting from the last 2 recaps? Nevertheless, Dillon Meares’ 723 leads the Untouchables to 4th while Malice, 24-96 for the past 4 tour stops, stays where they are in 11th.

Chill Squad: 20, Preemptive Strike: 20
Charles Johnson leads Chill Squad to the scratch trios win by 117 and the overall wood by 22, while The Strikers get a 739 from Hunter Compton to force the tie. The tie does neither team much good – the Strikers remain in 8th and the Chill Squad drops a few spots to 5th because the teams right behind them won. In this case, a tie is as good as a loss.

Strike or Spare: 36, The Disciples: 4
The battle of who will remain in the top half of the district goes to SOS, who get a 711 from Christopher M Williams and a 68-12 record for the past 2 tour stops. The now 7th Disciples see their win streak end because they get blown out by 568 pins and by shooting 335 pins under average, contributed to their own demise.
