Nick Smith: Southeast Unholy Alliance Predictions

Nick Smith predicts who will come out triumphant at this weekend’s Unholy Alliance

NOTE: This column was presented by Nick Smith

Southeast Heavyweight Title Match
Champion Jerry Didway Vs. #1 Contender Dre Gaither
2 opposite styles. Dre lovebeing very loud and a showman while Jerry is the exact opposite, quiet and just bowls. Former champ vs current champ. Dre returns to a big match at the beach, his last match there vs Josh Pittman was very high scoring on both sides.
Prediction – Dre in 5.

Southeast Cruiserweight Title Match
Champion Chris Smith vs #1 Contender Rudy Brantley
Got a former cruiserweight and tag team champ in Rudy vs the current champ. Hard to go against a lefty in a heads up match no matter how bad they sometimes are, especially in a house as soft as Myrtle Beach Bowl. I dont see nerves being an issue for Rudy as he has been here before, I’m not so certain about Chris. I expect close games all the way through.
Prediction – Rudy in 6

Southeast Welterweight Title Match
Champion Mike Wakefield Jr vs #1 Contender Chris McKnight
Outside of Mike being one of the genuinely nicest guys you will ever encounter he is a good competitor. Chris will have a good bit of support behind him but I think after the way Squad got criticized for their lack of support in attending him winning the belt I think they show up and show out for their boy and that gets him the W!!!!
Prediction – Mike Wakefield in 6 #SquuadUp

Heavyweight matchup
Joe Kowalewski vs Charles Withers
As I stated previously, it’s hard to go against a lefty in a heads up match in a place like MBB. Both bowlers have shown the ability to fill up the scorecard and strike in bunches but I think Joe gets it done in a close game 7. I would not be surprised if they trade games this whole match and a few games could legitimately be the first person to miss loses.
Prediction – Joe in 7

Welterweight matchup
Troy Grant vs Ralph Harris
Ralph is coming off a loss to Mike Wakefield for the belt so he will be looking for a little revenge but Troy is hungry to get to the top of the division. Troy’s style keeps him in play at almost every center he will go to and I dont see MBB giving him any trouble. If Troy can consistently make spares and fill frames this match could be over earlier than 6. #YouMyBoyBlue
Prediction – Troy in 6

Heavyweight matchup
AJ Rice vs Octavious Manning
AJ who? Never heard of her!!! I’m pretty sure everyone and their unborn relatives know about AJ and what he has and can do on the lanes. Sorry Octavious, I’m sure you are a great guy but unfortunately you need to be a god on the lanes to beat AJ in MBB, IMO. Who knows, AJ might get bored due to the lack of money to be made on this match and not take it serious, doubtful but still possible.
Prediction – AJ in 5
