The Draft NE WCS Predictions

I’m feeling a draft in here. As in the Northeast Draft, which it’s time for some selections to see who I think will win the title matches. The record so far is 18-7. Can I improve me win percentage? We shall find out.

NORTHEAST HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
CHAMPION: Ducky Russell (Jer-Z Outlawz)
Vs.
CHALLENGER: Doug Herron (Team Matrix)

THOUGHTS: Let’s drop the pretense now – we all KNOW who everyone WANTS to see win this. And we all know how good Herron (who keep in mind was a former World Champion) can be. But while Herron is a carry machine, Bristol Pike Lanes can be a bit tricky, which Russell is aware of. Herron survived a grind out match against George Bakshys due to a major implosion in the last game, but he can’t do that against Russell. I think this will go a lot further than what most people think it will go, but I don’t see how Herron, who wants this extremely badly, will let this slip through his fingers.
PICK: Herron in 7

NORTHEAST VIXENS TITLE MATCH
CHAMPION: Hermie Hannibal (Silent Killerz)
Vs.
CHALLENGER: Sagirah Wheeler (APEX Predators)

THOUGHTS: The Battle Bowl Vixen’s Title Match will guarantee a veteran going up against a well-experienced champion. But which well-experienced champion? This match is going to be another classic which I think is going to go the distance. Coin flip time….
PICK: Wheeler in 7

NORTHEAST WELTERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
CHAMPION: Theodore Rampersant (Revolution)
Vs.
CHALLENGER: Lisa Williams (Philadelphia Horsemen)
THOUGHTS: Rampersant got past a game Galan to win the Welterweight title He faces off against long time veteran Lisa Williams, who FINALLY gets a shot at the belt. Should she win, she’ll be the first female to hold the belt since Jessica Del Valle did it a few years back. Rampersant has had a history of struggling when he’s not familiar with the conditions and Bristol Pike will be new. Now so for Williams, and I think we will be seeing history made here.
PICK: Williams in 6

NORTHEAST CLASSIC TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
CHAMPIONS: Eddie Williams/Karla Pereira (Secret Society)
Vs.
CHALLENGERS: Jose Valdes/Josh Valdes (Da Hit Squad)

THOUGHTS: I’m used to typing in Dysfunctional Bowlers, and I will be typing the name – but not here. This is not going to be an easy defense for SS, as they are dealing with a former Cruiserweight Champion and his sibling. Williams will need to be a lot better here than he was at Lodi, because they can’t afford to give games away to DHS. Jose Valdes needs to be on point, because he can be sloppy also. SS will be favored slightly to hold on to the belts, but they will be severely tested here.
PICK: SS in 7

NORTHEAST HEAVYWEIGHT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
NE Champions: Matthew Frei-Funk/David Nagelhout (Dysfunctional Bowlers)
Vs.
Challengers: Ryan Fortson/Christina Williams (Devastation Inc.)

THOUGHTS: Here’s where I get to type in Dysfunctional Bowlers, as they will once again be bowling the team of Fortson and Williams. The one difference is that it’s closer to Devastation Inc territory, but I’m not sure it matters if the DB are on – and if they are not looking ahead to Battle Bowl, where they could be seeing one of two UBA mainstays. My guess is they won’t – or if they do, they will course correct themselves.
PICK: DB in 6
