February 2021 Southeast WCS predictions

Can Daphne Smith and all of the other belt holders retain?

It is I, Gordon Pepper, back to do some more predicting. Last time out, in the debut episode, I went 5-1, which is not too shabby. let’s see if I can continue the win streak here…

SOUTHEAST HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
CHAMPION Josh Pittman
Vs.
#1 CONTENDER Jordan Grice

Pittman has waited a very long time to seize the belt, and it’s going to take a monster effort for him to relinquish it. Grice’s run has been impressive, and he has the ability to win the title, but now is not his time. Yet.
PREDICTION: Pittman in 5

SOUTHEAST VIXENS TITLE MATCH
CHAMPION Daphne Smith
Vs.
#1 CONTENDER Elizabeth Lefler

Like Grice, Lefler has made a nice run to the title. Like Grice, Lefler is going to have her hands very very full. Smith is a powerhouse and Grice is going needs to be perfect – and needs to pressure Smith into making uncharacteristic mistakes. I don’t see either happening here.
PREDICTION: Smith in 5

SOUTHEAST CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
CHAMPION Sam Chance Jr.
Vs.
#1 CONTENDER Thiamous McNair

Chance has had a fun little run as the champion. And I’ve had all sorts of fun with his name. And while I can’t have much punmanship with ‘McNair’, this is a different sort of bowler that Chance hasn’t seen. The Villains will have the chance to walk out with three belts this weekend and chances are they cash in on this one.
PREDICTION: McNair in 6

SOUTHEAST WELTERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
#1 CONTENDER Cathy McCandless
Vs.
#1 CONTENDER Travis Watson
This is going to be a fun match-up – maybe the best of all of the singles match-ups. Both McCandless and Watson have come a long long way and they are both more than capable of winning the title. The only reason why I’m siding in this direction is Watson’s experience, but if I’m wrong on any of these, it’ll be this one.
PREDICTION: Watson in 7

SOUTHEAST CLASSIC TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
CHAMPIONS Crystal Myrick / Mike Myrick
Vs.
#1 CONTENDERS Kenny Snead / Jerry Didway
On paper, the Myricks should have the edge. But matches aren’t done on paper, and Snead wants his tag team title back. Didway has also have title experience, so this should be the match of the evening. Pick a coin here.
PREDICTION: Snead/Didway in 7

SOUTHEAST UNLIMITED TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
CHAMPIONS Nick Cenzoprano / Chris Arroyo
Vs.
#1 CONTENDERS Dre Gaither / Mal Williams
This will be the loudest of the title matches, and both Gaither and Williams will be bringing the sound and the fury. The question is – will Williams be bringing the striking shoes? Mal is going to be the X-Factor, and he will need to at least give Gaither a chance and not be steamrolled by Arroyo. Based on history though, Arroyo is going to stomp Williams flatter than a pancake, and if that happens, then so does GOAT’s chances of winning the belts.
PREDICTION: Cenzoprano / Arroyo in 6
