The UBA Post-Up: December 8 / 9

Renteria retains. Kim wins. and Respect the DHS.

While we’re closing out the year, we’re not short on action or excitement. Let’s see what some of the action results are from this past weekend…

1. Raul Renteria – making history again?
Renteria and the Dysfinctional Bowlers had a huge weekend. He not only defends the Classic Tag Team titles with Bryan Andes against Sheer Vengeabce, but he also wins his semi-finals match with David Nagelhout (who BTW, may be going after the Heavyweight Title in 2020) against AMW in the Uncapped Tag Team Division. Can Renteria be the first person to hold both tag team belts at the same time?

2. Jae Kim is your new Northeast Cruiserweight Champion
The Good Brothers’ Jae Kim defeated the Wrecking Crew’s Carlos Jimenez in a crazy 7 game match-up to win the Northeast Cruiserweight Championship. Kim wno the first 3 games but Jimenez came storming back to grab the next 3, forcing a game 7. They then went back and forth, but a pair of opens by Jimenez including one late in the game, gives Jae the championship and the GB their first Cruiserweight title.

3. The X is Disrespected
So maybe it took the Valdes Brothers to migrate over to DHS, but Da Hit Squad get their first win in over 5 years against the X-Men in a 22-18 nail-biter. This was a win DHS had to have as they are still on the outside looking in for playoff purposes. The X-Men are probably hoping it stays that way, but wouldn’t that be fun to see another X Vs. DHS for their post-season life in June? You know you want to see that….

4. Release the Drillerz
The NJ Drillerz defeat the Krakens in a goov 2 Vs. 3 match-up. That, combined with Syndicate’s loss, gives NJD the top spot in the NJ South. For now.

5. Plummer happy; Rest of the team? Notsomuch
Donnell Plummer retained his Northeast Welterweight title against teammate Jonathan Bertrand in 6 games. That’s 2 games more than the number of points his team – The NY Legendz – took as they get throttled by Killerz Grip 36-4. KG moves up to third in the NY East as they trail both Lightz Out and the Long Island Legends.
