The UBA Post-Up: September 28/29

It’s time for Fall. Autmn. Leaves. The air getting cooler (which means less sticking on the lanes. Huzzah!). But the action is getting hotter – october is the first month where all of the belts are in play. Let’s see what this weekend showed us.
1. The incumbents are really really good
Bobby Hall II defended his title in 5. In the Southeast, two champs held on to their belts. It’s not going to be easy to wrest the belts off the people that are currently holding on to the hardware.
2. The former title-holders are really really good, too.
Niko Rivera (Heavyweight) and Carlos Jimenez (Cruiserweight) are now the #1 contenders of their respective averages – and they’ve been former champions. This month will tell if they can make transfer that title to the current champions.
3. It’s been a Dysfunctional weekend, Part 1.
The Dysfunctional Bowlers win the NNJ Team Rankings, so they start with the #1 Seed and home alley advantage. How long can they hold on to it? Or can they run the table for the year?
4. It’s been a Dysfunctional weekend, Part 2.
Raul Renteria is looking to both successfully defend the Cruiserweight belt and win the Tag Team titles with partner Bryan Andes. The last time someone held both the Cruiserweight and Tag Team titles it was Miguel Carrion, who by the way, is back on the Tag Team list and is now on the Heavyweight list. Can he cause damage there?
5. Lots of Team Rankings matches abound
Congratulations to Black Reign (NY), The Fury (NECT) and Secret Society (SNJ) for winning the Team Rankings. Though it’s nice to start it off, the trick is to have it the one time it counts – the end of the year. Good luck to all teams in their quest to achieve that goal.
