Northeast Last Man Standing Profiles

Gordon Pepper profiles some key Northeast Matches this weekend.

NE Heavyweight Title Match – Bobby Hall II (NWO Wolfpack) vs. Niko Rivera (A Tribe Called Nest)
How they got here: Hall has been defending his title for close to a half-year. Rivera gets his chance after defeating Rob Bateman
X-Factor: Nike Rivera always calls himself ‘The Underdog’. He’s going to bring that mentality to the match – which, as you can see by the picture, was what gave him the Heavyweight title the first time around. And while most people consider Hall the favorite, Lodi is a place Rivera is familiar with and he has the tools to deliver the upset. Will he?

NE Tag Team Title Match – Vernell Butler-Lomax/James Jay Morse (Showtime) vs. Raul Renteria/Bryan Andes (Dysfunctional Bowlers)
How they got here: This is Showtime’s first title defense since Battle Bowl. The DB had to do some travelling to get the title shots, but here they are.
X-Factor: Renteria already has the Cruiserweight title and wants to be the first person since Miguel Carrion to hold both the Cruiserweight and Tag Titles at the same time. Should Showtime hold on, they would be the longest-reigning Tag Team Champions since 2017.

NE Vixens Title Match – Kayla Jones (Justus League) vs. Ashley Gottlieb (X-It Woundz)
How they got here: Jones knocked off Krystal Franklin at Battle Bowl. Gottlieb was victorious against Karla Pereira.
X-Factor: Lodi is where Jones won the title for her first reign. Will history repeat itself? Or will Gottlieb use the same alley to start her own first reign?

NE Cruiserweight Title Match – Raul Renteria (Dysfunctional Bowlers) vs. Carlos Jimenez (Wrecking Crew)
How they got here: Renteria defeated Sal C. in August. Jimenez held serve against Malachi Moore.
X-Factor: Both bowlers can score here at will and both of them are emotional players. Expect this to be loud and go the distance.

NE Cruiserweight #1 Contender’s Match – Arley Rojas Jr. (Justus League) vs. Troy Gafgen (All In!)
How they got here: Rojas vanquished Josh Valdes while Gafgen took the SIlver Lane Express to NJ.
X-Factor: The lanes may determine the winner. If this turns into a carry contest, advantage Rojas. If it turns into a grind, advantage Gafgen.

NE Classic Tag Team 3v4: Michael Martinez / Michael Collazo (Latino All-Stars) vs. Mayne Williams / Bryan Spencer (Da Garden Foundation)
How they got here: The All-Stars made DHS’s debut a sour one, while DGF made a Franchise out of the Franchise.
X-Factor: DGF won their last match at Lodi. Though the All-Stars can hit the lanes here also, which means that the match may weigh on the shoulders of Spencer.

NE Uncapped Tag Team 5v6: Darian LeMay/Ali Randell (AMW) vs. Kenny Latham III/Jamal Shaw (Lightz Out)
How they got here: Both teams qualified for the Uncapped Tag Team Tournament
X-Factor: We’re going to see our first taste of Uncapped Action. Both teams are more than capable of winning the gold, and both Randell and Latham have gotten to title matches (while Shaw has won the Cruiserweight title), so both teams are experienced. This should be the best first round match-up.

NE Heavyweight 21v22: John Sharpe (Philadelphia Horsemen) vs. Skylar Parish (Pocket Kingz)
How they got here: Sharpe got past Paul Foti while Parish scored the biggest upset in September, stunning former world champion Ray Smarsh.
X-Factor: This alley may be new to both men, but the winner gets into the Top Ten. Can the Face that runs the place also run Lodi? Or will they be run by the Horsemen?

This is just a few of the matches to be held this weekend. May the best teams win.
